ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Tuesday hearing a case pertaining to the abuse of powers has expressed anger over the disappearance of the accused suspects.

Justice Arshad Malik of accountability court heard a case pertaining to the abuse of powers.

As the hearing went underway, the accountability court judge has expressed anger as all the accused suspects were absent from the hearing including the former premier Shaukat Aziz, PTI leader Liaquat Jatoi and one other suspect.

The court, however, failed to indict all the accused of the case because of their absence and no answer was submitted in this regard.

The three accused Liaquat Jatoi, Yousuf Memon and Ghulam Nabi Mangrio submitted the acquittal pleas in the court.

To this, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor opposed their acquittal pleas and told the court that they have concrete evidence against them which will be presented when the trial will be started.

The NAB sought one week time from the court to produce the accused suspects which was accepted by the court.

The court then adjourned the hearing till March 22.

It is pertinent to mention here that a reference was filed for embezzlement by the NAB against the former PM Shaukat Aziz, Liaquat Jatoi and others in May 2017.
