LAHORE: An accountability court on Thursday granted nine-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) central punjab president and former provincial minister for local government Aleem Khan.
NAB secured Aleem’s nine-day physical remand in cases pertaining to owning assets beyond his known sources of income and Panama scandal.
A day earlier, Aleem was summoned by NAB for an ongoing probe against him and was taken into custody when he appeared at the accountability bureau office in Lahore.
Aleem was produced before court by NAB officials today. Tight security measures were taken in this regard.
Following his arrest yesterday (Wednesday), NAB issued a statement, saying he was arrested in light of the Panama scandal investigation.
Soon after his arrest, the PTI leader sent his resignation to Punjab CM Usman Buzdar.
