LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information had been sent home for passing derogatory remarks against the ‘Hindu Community’ here on Tuesday.
Earlier today, Punjab CM Usman Buzdar asked Fayyaz Chohan to tender his resignation from his ministry for his derogatory remarks against the ‘Hindu Community’.
He later sent his resignation to Punjab CM, which was accepted with immediate effect.
He came under criticism from his own party, civil society and other political parties for making insulting remarks against the ‘Hindu Community’ and was asked to resign under public’s pressure.
However, Fayyaz made an apology for his derogatory remarks and said, “I respect Hindus living here my intention was different as I was targetting Modi, the Indian government and Indian military.”
“However, I apologize from the core of my heart if my comments have hurt ‘Hindu Community’ living in Pakistan,” he added.
According to sources, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan will be replaced by Samsam Bukhari and the office.
