ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Thal Express and Railway live-tracking system here on Tuesday.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the PM said that a common man uses railway for commutation.
“Due to the incompetence of previous governments, we are paying Rs6 billion in interest on daily basis,” he said.
PM Imran said if there were ‘anything left in the national treasury then he would have done something for government’s Haj quota’.
I have asked all ministers to reduce expenditure, said the prime minister.
The PM asked Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed to send corruption cases to the National Accountability Bureau.
Meanwhile, Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that the former government made millions through kickbacks in the railway department, adding that machines worth more than Rs1 billion were bought which are of no use.
We are spending millions on unnecessary stations such as Okara and Narowal, said the railways minister.
Incharge Train Tracking Service Mudasser Zaidi said that the system is now operational and we can track our trains through this system.
