ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf-led government has finally decided to remove Fawad Chaudhry from the post of Federal Minister for Information, sources told Sindhpost.

According to sources, Fawad Chaudhry will be given another ministry, whereas, Babar Awan is likely to be made Advisor to PM on Information.

Sources further told that Babar Awans appointment is conditional to his clearance in Nandipur case.

Few days ago, Sindhpost had revealed that Fawad Chaudhary has demanded portfolio of Interior Ministry from PM Imran Khan in replacement of Information Ministry.

However, PM rejected Fawads demand and offered him to become IT minister.

Fawad Chaudhry was sworn in as Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting in the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan on 20 August 2018.

It must be noted that the appointment of Arshad Khan as PTVs MD as well as the board of directors of the state-run television has been a bone of contention between federal Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and Special Assistant to the PM on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq over the past few days.

Mr Hussain is against Arshad Khans appointment and has always spoken against him in public. But Mr Haq supports the PTV management and he tweeted last week: The Prime Minister has full confidence in the Board of PTV and its management and believes PTV should be an independent organisation like BBC and the government will take all steps necessary towards that end.
