ISLAMABAD: Ruckus marred the proceedings of the National Assembly on Thursday as the opposition members staged a protest over the arrest of Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani.

As the session began, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah lashed out at the accountability watchdog for and condemned the arrest of Agha Siraj Durrani.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shafqat Mehmood criticised the PPP for lackluster performance in Sindh over the last decade.

Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the session till Friday.

Durrani was taken into custody from Islamabad by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over assets beyond known sources of income.
