KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered to reinstate 100-seat quota of Lyari’s Benazir Medical College.

SHC heard Benazir Medical College’s seat reduction case. Seat were reduced by 50 percent earlier.

The court ordered the Sindh government to fulfill needs of the college staff and teachers within three months.

SHC also ordered the government to approve summaries within 15 days and directed the PMDC to register new faculty of the college.

The court in it’s remarks said that every one should own the college.

The principal of the college told the court that they needed two more professors and two assistant professors. On this additional secretary health told the court that summaries have been sent in this regard.

It is pertinent to mention here that PMDC reduced Benazir Medical college’s seat to 50 from 250.

Court on Friday, in it’s verdict ordered to reinstate the reduced seats to original state.

SHC also ordered authorities to solve the issues of the college as soon as possible.
