THAR: A United Nations (UN) delegation will visit drought-hit Thar on Wednesday to lessen the sufferings of Thari people.

According to the details, the UN delegation headed by its undersecretary arrived in Pakistan today (Tuesday) to extend the sphere of social welfare activities in the draught-hit Thar.

As per sources UN in collaboration with Women Development Department Sindh will also launch special program for mother and neonatal in Thar.

The UN will also introduce a program against child marriages and for women health in Sindh.

Earlier in a day, six more infants died in drought-hit Thar, bringing the death toll during the last 72 hours to 13.

Every year 1,500 children die due to malnutrition, infections and lack of proper medical facilities in the remote region.
