RAWALPINDI: At least 17 people including five crew members embraced martyrdom and twelve civilians were injured after a plane of Pakistan Army’s Aviation wing crashed during a routine training flight here on Tuesday.
As per details, the incident took place near Mora Kalu area of Rawalpindi district when a plane of Pakistan Army crashed during a routine flight. As a result, 17 people including five members of the crew embraced martyrdom while 12 others sustained injuries.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the plane crashed in the populous area and resulted in fatal civilian casualties in the process.
However, a rescue operation is being carried out as the rescue teams have immediately shifted the dead and the wounded to the hospital.
The martyred crew members were identified as Lieutenant Colonel Saqib, Lieutenant Colonel Waseem, Naib Subedar Afzal, Havaldar Ibne Ameen and Havaldar Rehmat.
