LAHORE: Accountability Court approved remand of the detained manager of Ramzan Sugar Mills for 14 days and handed him over to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) here on Tuesday.

Justice Jawad-ul-Hassan Khuwaja heard a case pertaining to the fake bank accounts in which the NAB produced the detained manager of Ramzan Sugar Mills.

The court after a short hearing has approved the anti-graft body’s plea and handed the accused Mushtaq over to NAB for a physical remand of 14 days.

A day earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a man named Mohammad Mushtaq at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, who was said to be the manager of Ramzan Sugar Mills.

FIA arrested him after he was off-loaded from the flight owing to the placement of his name in the Exit Control List (ECL).

According to authorities, Mohammad Mushtaq was trying to escape from the country and was offloaded from a Dubai bound flight.
