Chaman: A man was killed and four others were injured as a bomb exploded in Mall Road area of the city here on Friday.

According to police, at least one person was killed and four others injured in a blast in Chamans Mall Road area.

Security forces have cordoned off the area after the attack and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital.

Earlier today, at least 20 people were killed and 50 others injured in a blast at Quetta’s Hazarganji Sabzi Mandi early in the morning.

DIG Quetta Abdul Razaq Cheema confirmed at least 16 people had died, while at least 30 others were injured in the blast that occurred at around 7:35 am.

He said that eight of the killed were members of the Hazara community and one was FC personnel. Cheema said that four FC personnel were also among the injured. Buildings located nearby and vehicles were also damaged in the blast, police said.

The explosive device was concealed in a potato box.

Eleven bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital while three transported to Bolan Medical Complex (BMC). The injured were also shifted to BMC.

Security forces have cordoned off the site of the blast.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal strongly condemning the attack assured that the culprits would be taken to the task.
