KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on Sunday approved the formation of 57 new model courts across the country.

According to sources, at least 40 model courts will operate in Punjab, 16 in Sindh, and one will be in Balochistan.

The model courts will be fully functional from June 24.

A workshop will be held at the Federal Judicial Academy on June 19 in Islamabad for the training of the judges in which CJP Asif Saeed Khosa is expected to deliver a lecture to the participants.

Earlier in May, for the first time in the history of Pakistan, approved the formation of e-courts in the country.
