KARACHI: A campaign to clean storm-water drains before Eid-ul-Azha in the metropolis backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) led federal government has been kicked off today (Sunday).
Earlier today, talking to media Federal Minister Ali Zaidi said, “A two-phased campaign will continue for two weeks.”
“In the first phase, 32 streams will be cleaned in the city, while garbage from all areas of the metropolis would be wiped out in the second phase,” he added.
“Civil Society, private organizations and media figures have pledged their support for the campaign,” he further added.
“The Clean Karachi camping will begin from 12 noon onwards at KPT Head Office, Near Tower Bridge,” he concluded.

Earlier this week, the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi vowed to clean the city from the garbage within two weeks.
