LAHORE: Punjab polices Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday arrested Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed.

According to sources within CTD, he was nabbed while en route to Gujranwala from Lahore.

He is the head of banned JuD and its charity wings, the CTD added.

Saeed was arrested under the cases registered against him and the countrys ongoing operations against the proscribed outfits.

The detained JuD chief has been sent to judicial remand on an immediate basis after being taken into the custody by CTD.
