ISLAMABAD: Each Pakistani now owes more than Rs182,000 as our national debt in the very first year of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) led federal governments rule, sources informed on Friday.

As per details, from 1947 till June 2018 every government imposed a burden of Rs136,000 on the shoulders of every countryman but that figures have gone up from June 2018 to July 2019 by 182,000.

On the other hand, the PTI-led government has claimed that all the foreign debts were acquired to repay the loans acquired by the previous governments and if we avoided taking those loans the country could have gone bankrupt.

According to the latest figure of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the figures of foreign debts have bumped up drastically since March 2019 and the country now owes Rs40,214 billion as foreign debts.

It is pertinent to mention here that the figures of the countrys debt have gone up by Rs10,000 billion since March.
