ISLAMABAD: Hussain Asghar, Deputy Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been appointed as the chairman of the high powered commission to probe the loans taken during past 10 years, local media reported on Tuesday.
As per details, a meeting of the federal cabinet which was chaired by the Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the top-notch civilian leadership of the country discussed on matters pertaining to the security of the country and about the formation of a high powered commission for probing loans that were taken during the past decade.
According to sources, the cabinet reviewed the resumes of several senior officials including Shoaib Suddle, the former Director Intelligence Bureau (IB), IG Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam and Hussain Asghar.
However, the cabinet has given approval to the name of current Deputy Chairman NAB Hussain Asghars name for the post of the chairman of the commission.
The premier on this occasion also vowed to empower the commission to work on the matter transparently.
