KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that freedom of the free press is an important pillar of the state here on Friday.

Addressing a ceremony in Karachi Press Club (KPC) on the auspicious occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Bilawal said that free press is an important pillar of the state.

Many journalists were killed and disappeared while performing their duties but culprits were never punished and they are still roaming freely, said PPP Chairman.

Vibrant and free media is necessary for a progressive democracy adding that his Party together with journalists and media persons would continue to resist every kind of intimidation attempt against the freedom of the press, he added.

Supremacy of law is incomplete until the complete implementation of the SC orders in the Faizabad sit-in case, he concluded.
