ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties on Wednesday have ended protest outside Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Islamabad against the alleged rigging in general elections 2018.

The key political figures including PPP’s Sherry Rehman, Yousuf Raza Gillani, Qamar Zaman Qaira, Farhatullah Babar, Aitzaz Ahsan Naveed Qamar and PML-N’s Saad Rafique, Ahsan Iqbal, Mushahid Hussain, Khawaja Asif Raja Zafarul Haq, Javed Hashmi and ANP’s Mian Iftikhar participated alongside party workers at the protest outside the office of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The opposition alliance comprises Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Awami National Party (ANP), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), National Party (NP) and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA).

Speaking to the protest Sherry Rehman once again demanded the resignation of ECP officials.

“We will unite political parties by going through in parliament,” she added.

The Grand opposition alliance has also decided to protest outside the parliament during the first sitting of the National Assembly which would take place before August 15, as announced by the interim information minister Barrister Ali Zafar on Wednesday.

Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co- chairman Asif Ali Zardari didn’t attend the protest led by grand opposition alliance staged outside Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Islamabad.
