Web-Desk: According to media reports, on Sunday, the city court released on bail a suspected driver of online car service, who was charged with allegations of harassment against a woman.
However, the driver has denied the charges.
City Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Dr Samiullah Soomro said a police party had rushed to the spot and taken both the driver and the woman to a police station, where the driver was arrested on charges of harassment.
According to media reports, on Saturday a woman climbed out of a moving vehicle near Gora Qabristan, Karachi as the driver allegedly harassed her.
The vehicle was reported to be used by online car service, however the driver was held into police custody following the physical assault by the people who gathered to assist the aggrieved lady.
Harassment cases in Pakistan is rising, especially the online car services are considered to be rather insecure for many ladies who make their way to homes and job destinations.
Pertinent to mention that Careem/Uber has categorically denied about the driver association with either of the respective companies.
