ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed a plea against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman by declaring it invalid for hearing.

According to details, Chief Justice IHC Justice Athar Minallah heard a plea filed by advocate Shah Jahan against the JUI-F chief for delivering speeches against institutions.

As the hearing went underway, the petitioner pleaded the court that the JUI-F chief is trying to incite people against the state institutions and a ban should be imposed on him.

To which, Justice Minallah in his remarks said that we cannot abolish the right of freedom of expression and such things doesnt matter.

Chief Justice IHC maintained that people do criticize us as the world has turned into a global village in the era of social media we cannot stop everyone.

The court also said in its remarks that we should lift our standards so no one can criticize us and dismissed the plea seeking to take an action against the JUI-F chief for delivering speeches against the state institutions.
