KARACHI: First rain of monsoon hit metropolis on Monday as city’s various areas continue to suffer from a power outage.
The first spell of rain early in the morning is to continue intermittently in the various parts of the city.
The citizens are facing troubles as the roads of the city are filled with water after the rainfall and due to the power outage in several areas of the city. Karachi’s main Shahrah-e-Faisal is filled with water and causing trouble to the commuters intended to go to their offices, colleges and universities.
Malir, Model Colony, Hassan Square, Nipa, Sabzi Mandi, Jail Chowrangi, Airport meanwhile in Saddar, I.I Chundrigar Road, Old City Areas, Defence, Nazimabad, Korangi, Qayyumabad and Landhi are among the affected areas.
On the other hand, Sindh’s second-largest city Hyderabad was hit by heavy downpour since late Sunday night.
Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has also predicted heavy rains for the upcoming two days in the parts of the province.
According to PMD, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Larkana and other cities are likely to receive rains for the upcoming few days.
