KARACHI: The Election commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday has rejected PML-N President Shehbaz Sharifs request for a recount in Karachis NA-249.

In general elections, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Faisal Vawda won by 600 votes in NA-249 beating Shahbaz Sharif who secured 34,626 votes.

ECP also declared the elections in PP-5, PP-21 and NA-258 null and void and ordered a re-poll.

Earlier in a day, Faisal Vawda among six otherstook oath as new federal ministers.

It must be noted that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday nabbed former chief minister of Punjab, opposition leader and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) president Shehbaz Sharif in Ashiana Housing Scandal.

The PML (N) president and former Punjab chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif was arrested as he appeared before the NAB headquarters in Lahore.
