Web Desk: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority on Thursday has imposed a fine of five million rupees on K-Electric due to failure in provision of reliable power supply to consumers of Karachi.

According to NEPRA, the decision was taken after report of a committee that visited the generation, transmission and distribution facilities of K-Electric in June last year and found irregularities.

NEPRA claims K-Electric was given chance to explain the irregularities and a show-cause notice was also issued to the company.
