ISLAMABAD: The National Security Committee (NSC) on Wednesday decided to downgrade diplomatic ties and to suspend bilateral trade relations with India.

A meeting of the NSC was chaired by the Prime Minister Imran Khan which was attended by heads of Army, Navy, Air Force and other top civil-military leadership of the country.

According to a statement issued, the top-notch civil-military leadership decided to take the matter of revocation of 370th amendment by the Indian government to the United Nations (UN) and the Security Council.

The countrys top-notch civil-military leadership also decided to suspend bilateral trade and diplomatic ties with the neighbours and to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day in solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.

It is pertinent to mention that the Indian government has decided to scrap the 370th amendment of its constitution which has revoked a special status granted to Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).
