PESHAWAR: Five terrorists have been killed and one Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) official namely Qamar Alam embraced martyrdom in an operation at a house in Hayatabad a suburb of Peshawar.

The operation which lasted for the last 15 hours saw the exchange of heavy fire between security forces and the terrorists. Two explosions have also been heard.

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai, Pakistan Army personnel are taking part in the operation alongside the police force.

The operation was carried out on the basis of an intelligence tip-off regarding the presence of terrorists in the three-story residential building.
