ISLAMABAD: President, Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan, while greeting the nation on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day, have called for unity and harmony to face the challenges and issues confronted by the country for achieving the national objectives of progress and prosperity.

President Dr Arif Alvi in his message on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day said that the Independence Day also reinvigorates the spirit of patriotism and strengthens the passion to take the national flag to the heights of glory.

He also paid tribute to all the martyred of the country and said that the day of Independence reminds us of the unmatched sacrifices rendered by our forefathers to protect and safeguard our religious, cultural and social values.

The President also paid tribute to the sons of the soil who sacrificed their lives for protecting the motherland from internal and external threats.

Both also slammed Indian government for revoking special status granted to the Occupied Kashmir and termed it as a despicable conspiracy of the Modi-led Indian government while insisting that as a blatant violation of the United Nations resolutions and the Simla Agreement.

The President said the Indian government should realize that such tools cannot suppress the Kashmirs right of self-determination.
