QUETTA: An Election Tribunal on Friday ordered re-election in the NA-265 constituency of the National Assembly after declaring the election held there as null and void.

The Election Tribunal of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) headed by Justice Abdullah Baloch heard on a plea seeking to declare the election null and void in the constituency filed by Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) leader Lashkari Raeesani.

The Tribunal after reviewing the report submitted by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in which it was revealed that at least 52,000 votes cast in the constituency were unverified declared the election win of NA deputy speaker null and void and ordered re-election in NA-265 Quetta-II.

Talking to media after the hearing, Lashkari Raeesani told that it is unfortunate to see that an ineligible man was running the affairs of the house since a long time and many stalwarts will lose their seats in the province if a vote count will be conducted in more constituencies of the province.
