KARACHI: The federal government on Friday approved to extend the special powers assigned to Rangers within the Sindh for another 90 days.

After the recent extension in special powers, the Rangers will continue to perform its duties till July 4.

Earlier on April 6, the provincial government approved the extension of Rangers special powers in Karachi for another 90 days.

Sindh government had moved a summary on Rangers extension of powers to the federal government for approval. A notification was issued in this regard.

Under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, Rangers will be able to take independent action against criminals and suspected terrorists within Karachi division for 90 days.
