KARACHI: In a bizarre development it has been revealed on Sunday that an alleged extortion racket is actively operating by misusing the name of country’s Intelligence Agency in Lucknow Society area of the metropolis.
According to area residents, a gang led by a man named Hashim Raza who claims to be a Major Khurram of an Intelligence Agency is constantly extorting the people of the area and is allegedly involved in grabbing land and plots in Lucknow Town area of Korangi Karachi.
Sindh Post has investigated the story on its own and it has also been revealed that the gang is comprised on Hashim Raza alias Major Khurram, Naveed, Mumtaz and Mazhar and is involved in threatening people to sell their properties for cheap by misusing the name of an Intelligence Agency of the country.
The sources have further revealed that the gang with the help of local police book a police vehicle and a Vigo truck to facilitate their such criminal activities.
Sindh Posts investigation team has also sought information that the Hashim-led gang is also involved in harassing builders and also involved in threatening officials of Sindh Building Control Authority to obtain NOCs for the construction of illegal buildings.
Lucknow Town area residents are constantly being threatened by such goons who are misusing names of country’s Intelligence Agency.
On the other hand, the citizens have requested the authorities to take necessary legal actions against the Hashim-led extortion racket.
