As per details, as much as 53 votes were needed to remove the Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani after a motion tabled against the former while the opposition despite having a representation of 64 members in the upper house could only manage to get 50 votes.

It is widely expected that at least 14 members of the opposition alliance have cast their votes in favour of the Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.

However, the opposition has suffered another blow as they now have to lose the deputy Chairman Senate Salim Mandviwala after a counter no-confidence motion was tabled by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) for his removal.
