WASHINGTON: A Sindh-based journalist Javed Bhutto was gunned down here on Saturday. The slain journalist was brother-in-law of famous Pakistani scientist and professor Parvez Hoodbhoy.

Javed Bhutto hailed from Sindh’s Shikarpur district. On family’s pressure he firstly joined Bolan Medical College (BMC) but due to his interest in Literature and Philosophy he left BMC and went to study philosophy at Karachi University.

He taught Sindhi language in start. Javed Bhutto went to Bulgaria for higher studies and later joined the philosophy department of Sindh University as professor.
He taught philosophy for seven years at Sindh University.

According to details, he was shot dead by his neighbour which was later arrested by the police.
