KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday approved a grant of Rs50 million for three newly constructed model police stations of the metropolis.
As per details, South Zones Boat Basin police station will be merged to Clifton to form a model police station and a grant of Rs1.8 million has been approved for it while Bahadurabad will be merged to Ferozabad police station and Rs1.70 million funds have been granted to run the affairs of that model police station.
On the other hand, West Zones Super Market police station will be merged with Liaquat Abad model station and a supplementary grant of Rs1.52 million has been granted for the said model police station.
Additional IG Ghulam Nabi Memon told the press that all the three model police stations have initiated their work on an experimental basis and we have assigned our top officers as SHOs there while the staff will be selected after complete scrutiny of the record.
He said that the aim of forming model police stations is to eradicate corruption from the ranks of police and the salary of the SHOs of the model police stations has increased.
Ghulam Nabi Memon said that we have also granted funds to run the affairs of the police station, officers’ visit, refreshments of the guests and stationary.
