KARACHI: Traffic police on Friday informed that as much as Rs50 million were collected in an ongoing helmet drive in the metropolis during the past 25 days.

As per details, Karachi Traffic Police has imposed fines of worth more than Rs50 million on the violators while Rs5 million were collected in the course of past 25 days in an ongoing helmet-drive from those who violated one-way traffic rule within the past four days.

Traffic police have issued its progress report of the past 25 days of all the seven districts of Karachi. Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Police while presenting the report said that at least three hundred and fourty thousand citizens were fined and at least two hundred twenty thousand motorcycles were confiscated.

Javed Mahar stated that the police have collected more than Rs50 millions of fine from citizens without a helmet while Rs5 million were imposed as a fine on those who violated the one-way rule.
